Dont forget to add to that the speaker stand that you'll also need to haul around, and its easy to see that the Fishman has a clear edge in portability. And, IMO, no compromise in delivering a high level of quality in sound and features.

I've heard nothing but good things about Hello Music and have used them myself a few times with absolutely zero concerns. Buy with a credit card and you're double protected. I think you'll be quite happy with your purchase!

I got to hear a Lucas Nano 300 for the first time today. The salesman played several mp3 recordings of rock tunes through it and it was able to render the songs with fullness and clarity up to a pretty loud listening level. I'd definitely consider this new system if portability (28 lbs), and wide-spectrum sound (44 Hz - 20K Hz), at moderate listening levels was my goal. A good system for coffee houses and small clubs. Three channels but no onboard effects and selling for $649 to $699 (and maybe less with sales promotions). Check it out here:

I've ordered several pricey items from Hello Music without problems. They used to offer free or low-priced shipping on most things, that seems to have gone by the wayside. I think their customer service is slipping too, I've had several e-mail inquiries go unanswered. They have also made their phone number almost impossible to find. That said, they offer great prices (sometimes 20-30% below GC and other on-line stores) and are a legitimate, not fly-by-night company.

I too have ordered some things from Hello Music with no issues...

I do think that they are not an authorized dealer for everything they sell though so that may impact warranty issues. It is my impression that they do the warranty on equipment for which they are not authorized dealers. You may want to check that out.

Well so far hello music has been fine, but paypal has charged two seperate credit cards in my attempts to use bill me later for my purchase... very frustrating...

i have $1800 tied up in refunds.

UPDATE: Finally made my order 5 day later with Bill Me Later.

Ended up having to call them to get them to pre-approve it and stop bouncing back to my credit cards paypal had on file.

Got
1. Fishman Solo Amp
2. Shure SM58
3. Washburn Idol WIN Standard guitar

it all came out to $1000 with tax and shipping

Which I found ironic because the amp alone at guitar center is $1099

Got the fishman Wednesday... must say very happy so far. I have not had a chance to sing through it as I am still waiting for my microphone. But it sounds absolutely amazing through my acoustic guitars.

Really brings out the differences in a $300 Gretsch, $1000 Taylor and $2600 Taylor

Played my Mp3 player through it filled my house at 1/16th volume and sounded great.

The amp itself is "outstanding" lol

Even the stand is pretty sturdy, they just used plastic in one place they should not have.

that's a drag.

I've found the Fishman support to be excellent. Drop and e-mail or call them and I'm sure they'll take good care of you.

Wow, that's unfortunate, for sure. I've used mine for a couple of years now and mine still is trouble-free. I'm careful, but not "tender," with it. Can we ask how you did that? And yes Fishman is great to work with; let us know what happens!
