Default Paragon 00 13-Fret Lutz/Flamed Makore **SOLD**

I acquired this wonderful Paragon from another AGF member and it's exceeded my expectations. Rob Bustos has built world class instruments over the years and is highly regarded by his peers and those fortunate to play his guitars. The overall condition is excellent. There is a finish check near the fret board on the upper left bout in photo #5...hard to see unless you are looking for it in the right light . Very minor, but mentionable.

Playability/Tone: Very comfortable size and shallow C shape neck. The tone is well balanced with loads of sustain and an impressive low end. Impressive volume that bellies its size. Great fingerstyle guitar, but handles a pick very well...very versatile. The Lutz top responds well to a light touch, but can be pushed (often compared to charatisrics and fundamentals of adi). It's an excellent tonewood worthy of the hype. The Makore is beautiful and pairs extremely well...somewhere between mahagony and rosewood. Known for a high velocity of tone which is helpful in small body guitars. These tonewoods and build quality would cost well over 4K if commissioned today.

Wonderful sound clip compliments of AGF member bravebone in 2012:https://soundcloud.com/bravebone/par...app_name%7D%5D

Wink

You're gonna have to get away from Photobucket if you want any of your pics to show up. Either that or pay their extortion fee.

Getting this with the Google link:

404. That’s an error.

The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

you can upload pics right thought the site here - just go to "manage attachments" at the bottom of the page after you hit "edit" - pretty easy stuff.

I have 2 Paragons here at home from Rob and I can say with confidence that they stack up with anything out there. I'm talking some high end stuff as well. One of mine is about 12 years old and has really matured over the years. My other one is about 9-10 years old and is a 12 string that is probably the single greatest guitar I've ever played or owned. That one drops jaws by whoever plays it. It's bearclaw german spruce over Tree mahogany.

This is a neat guitar. I'd buy with extreme confidence.

Cheers,

Mark

Smile Rational thinking.

Rational in the sad "real world" and rational here in the fun guitar universe are two different things.

Your GAS is someone's gain! Haha

Best on this

Cheers

Thanks for your comments. Here is a quote from AGF Member bravebone a couple years ago: "I've played this guitar and its amazing! It has a sound that belongs to guitars 5 times the price."

Default yummy

well this is your chance to own a guitar that will never be built again as I don't think Rob is building any more I have tried to see if he is around but alas no word.
It's to bad he was well on his way to becoming one of the builders of today and tomorrow and his work was second to none at one time.
At this price you are buying part of history that might never be done again, me I would have asked for a lot more myself so what a great deal. good luck. ship

Hey my friend - good to see you on here! Rob is mostly doing finishing I think these days. I believe he's working with another guy (maybe somebody from the Larrivee days) finishing electrics and some acoustics.

You hang in there, you hear?

Default soundcloud recording of Paragon lutz

I had this guitar in my possession for a few days in 2012 Here's a recording I made of it, in case you are interested. I added a little reverb.
