Thanks everybody for the comments, it is a fine instrument with tone to spare. And Yes, it is quite loud...considerably louder than my Adi-topped dread but would agree with what Steve said, the volume while I'm playing it is different than what I hear when sitting on the other side...I had my neighbor play it and had him strumming pretty hard and it was room filling loud and the sound seemed to project from the top in a more focused way than any flat top I've heard. Also noticed that it sounds more balanced when listening vs playing, where the bass and trebles are more noticeable vs a slightly more mid-focused tone while on the playing side. This was interesting and different than my experience with flat tops, where I hear pretty much the same thing as player and listener. I am definitely going to play the heck out of it and am currently working to get some recording equipment so I can start putting up a few clips...

archtop love
Congratulations, enjoy it, play hard!
I have noticed that some people/shops like to put unwound strings on an archtop, or light gauge (12s) on an archtop. if you are amplifying it, yeah maybe, but I always string my archtop guitars with wound phosphor bronze medium gauge (13s) strings. the heavier strings drive the top and that's how you achieve a real acoustic sound.
