Thumbs up Building a Guitar for Steven Curtis Chapman

Our very own John Mayes is currently building a new acoustic guitar for Steven Curtis Chapman. You can read more about this guitar here http://www.mayesguitars.com/index.ph...id=5&Itemid=48

If you go to www.stevencurtischapman.com on the main page Steven is playing a guitar that John Mayes built for him back in 2003 I believe. Steven used that guitar from what I understand to record most of his upcoming new album as well as a lot of past songs.

As a lot of you know I own a Mayes guitar they are the best I have played. I have another one on order. I thought I would share this for any SCC fans on here. John has built guitars at Bourgeois and McPherson guitars in the past so he knows his stuff and he is one of our AGF Sponsors!

Pretty cool stuff to be building a guitar for a 5 time Grammy winner!!

I thought I would bump this up. I was just listening to the SCC album and enjoying it. There is a good shot of SCC with his old Mayes on his web site right now. The album is really good but kind of sad with him loosing his daughter.

Listening to "Beauty Will Rise" for the past few days. Deep. Powerful. Lyrically rich. Beautiful guitar tone.

It is for sure one of the better albums I've bought in a long while!!! Very deep and powerful emotional song writing!! John Mayes mentioned to me that SCC told him the old SJ guitar he built for SCC in 2003 seemed to already know the story to the album. He said the songs just came out of that guitar. I can see how a Mayes guitar can inspire great song writing. I'm inspired everytime I play mine for sure!!!!!!!

Just re-read this. I don't follow myself either!! (whoa--). I think that is a post to another thread's topic whilst I was surfing around the various topics that day. My fault on that one!

That's OK, Norm, I don't like peanut butter on my steak, either.

I have a niece who teaches special education. She loves her students and goes to great lengths to help each one develop to his/her fullest. But she also has fun. She sent me this.

Q: How many ADD students does it take to change a light bulb?
A: It takes.. spaghetti I want to ride my bike do you think Miss Smith smells funny?

I think it's great when our Sponsors are recognized by those who could choose pretty much any guitar builder on the planet. (I don't have ADD, I'm just sleep deprived! )
