Donovan (Leitch) plays a green Danny Ferrington, J-45-style guitar he calls "Kelly".

None of these colors are to my taste, but it seems pretty clear to me that Gibson isn't attempting to appeal to either traditionalists or the Baby Boom generation with these colors; they're trying to garner sales from a younger demographic.
I have my doubts that anyone will break down the doors of music stores trying to buy pink Gibson Hummingbirds, but it truly doesn't matter what I think about it: either the guitars will sell or they won't. Can't blame Gibson for trying... Wade Hampton "Personally, I'm Waiting For A J-45 In Woodland Camo..." Miller |

Just remember.... Chairman and CEO Juszkiewicz said. “The fact is, we don’t see ourselves as a guitar company, we see ourselves as a music lifestyle company.”

Maybe they're going to war...
And those "Les Pauls" would have been hot in the late 80's big hair and spandex metal scene. Seems like Gibson is desperately following trends after they're over, but not old enough to be retro. |

I suspect they've got a lot of ugly top wood they need to paint over or throw out.
