Default A very special NGD

A very dear friend of mine passed away from cancer a few years ago. He was a music lover like none other. He was a talented drummer and truly had a passion for everything music.

Today his widow gave me one of his guitars. Actually, she gave it to my 3 year old son, hoping that he will some day play it. I was on the brink of tears when she told me that she wanted us to have it for him. Honestly nothing brings back more memories of my friend than holding one of his instruments.

I don't know much about this specific Epiphone but it is beautiful and will be a great beginner guitar for my son as it appears to be a student model. But if anyone has any other information I'd love to know more about it!

For now, I'll hang it in his bedroom and I'll play it for him until he's old enough to start learning, although he will love strumming it now like he does his guitalale that we got for him a while ago.

I think his Epiphone is actually a classical guitar from a quick google search so if that is the case I think I'll restring nylon strings.

What a way to pass music on from one person to another in a very special way. Today is a special day!

Travel size (described by one site as 3/4 size) nylon string. Cute little thing too! What a special present!

It's all too easy to get caught in life and forget our friends and family when they pass. It takes hard work to preserve memories and keep them alive in our minds. Your friends wife has made your job easier and you should look forward to sharing his memories with your son when the time is right.

Pretty cool!

Thanks all, I'm really touched and very excited to show it to my son. I know he really won't appreciate it today but I know he will in the future.

Can anyone recommend the right type of nylon strings to buy?
