Why don't you tell them what you know of this cat and his connection with the Fab Four, then I'll fill in the empty spaces. Busy day in the shop, so I'll be in and out. Way to go!

Congrats!

Please send me your shipping info to charmedlifepicks @ gmail.com. We're behind on the reds, as usual, but hope to caught up in about a week.

Woohoo!

Way to go, StillStephen! Btw, iirc, did you win something in a similar contest a while ago? Seeing your moniker as the winner conjured that in my mind.

Folks, I hope you had fun. Sorry this one was such a tough one. This connection between Lord Buckley and the Beatles was something that attached to my brain like a lint ball many years ago. He was revered (still is) but many top comedians, including Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Mort Saul, etc.

The titles of "Hey Jude" and "Crackerbox Palace" are pulled directly from Buckley's life or routines. Paul and George were huge fans, but all four of them dug him.

In and out today, will chime in with more later.

Lord Buckley did the absolute best "A Christmas Carol" ever. Google (or Youtube) it! A local (Philly) DJ used to play this every Christmas season- a highlight!

Great contest Scott!

Scott,

I think you already covered what I know about Lord Buckley and George in particular - Crackerbox Palace. Once it was narrowed down to deceased American male performer who was an entertainer (but not muscian or writer specifically), and your response to Warhol and Max guesses, I started thinking about eccentric individuals and remembered the story of George meeting his agent and seeing his house in LA.

Looking forward to trying the red - I'll add it to my recently acquired black model and the on going comparison to my other favorite picks - Wegen, Herco Gold and BC TD-35. Yes, I still need to put my thoughts in a review and post it here soon!!

Tom, if you haven't heard from me in about a month, drop me a line and rattle my chain. The next one will be to win one of our new black series models, but I'm too low on stock right now. I hope to have a large shipment hitting my early August.

I had a blast myself. Gotta choose something other than the Beatles though next time.

Thanks for playing!
Scott

For me it's so much fun, it's WORTH giving away a couple picks. I worry that my trivia is a little too tough, but I myself like very challenging things like that.

I gotta mull over what I'm gonna do for the next one.

Thanks for playing, jpd. I'm pleased so many members had fun with it.

Take Care,
Scott

Just received my pick and it's a real beauty!! Looking forward to comparing it with the black version (certainly feels stiffer). Thanks again Scott for the fun contest and the great customer service!!

My pleasure, Steve. You certainly worked hard enough for it. I had forgotten you already owned a black one. I'll look forward to your report and comparison between the red one you just received and the black one you've been playing for a while. We got into the black, after two years of R&D and field testing with about two dozen players, because almost everyone reported that it seemed to offer the best tonal qualities of both the browns and the reds. We saw it as a "bridge" product. I had no idea the reviews would be so stellar. As I frequently at many points along this road: "I guess we guessed right."

Thanks, Steve,
Scott
