Default Can you have CLEAR c.f. ?

The question's really for Emerald I guess.

I was looking at the custom paint jobs and thinking of fun 3D effects that would camouflage the guitar and make it almost disappear,
or look like something other than a musical instrument.

Then I wondered if was possible to make a crystal clear one ? That'd be cool I think.

There's a guy who plays bars and stuff locally (Hi Tom!) whose trusty old guitar has gone about 3 stages further than Trigger ,
the top is completely strummed away just below the bridge area and some bracing ribs are exposed, even they are starting to get scalloped from the top down !
I was thinking of something like that as a paint effect, then I thought "why not actually see thru ?"

Doubtful. The carbon fibers that I've seen raw are black, as was every CF fabric I have seen. Plus the epoxy resin may not be completely clear. Injection molded plastic, liked used in the Waterman ukuleles, can be clear - I have one. But there is no way that molded polystyrene is the same strength as carbon fiber composite. https://kalabrand.com/collections/the-waterman

No.

While the resins are more or less clear, the carbon fiber itself is more or less a cloth. One can make instruments out of clear materials, but they would not have the strength and resiliancy of carbon fiber.

I have a polycarbonate uke for example.

polycarb is not as stiff as CF though, and thus the sound is not as percussive as CF.

A graphene guitar would approach your parameters! Graphene is the acoustic-guitar, non-wood buzz of the not-too-distant future! These guitars will be equipped with a homing chip that will enable a player to find it when it's time to play. Seriously, look for incorporation of Graphene in some form or other in various applications soon!

After extensive testing on lots of options (changing the strings was a breeze) I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter at all. YMMV.

Carbon fiber implies some "fiber" in there. The epoxy can be reasonably clear, but I've never seen clear fiber (having worked with fiberglass, kevlar, and CF on boat bits).

So what you are saying Captain is that there is some fibre in there, is that anything like fibre in your diet?

I haven't tried munching on that kind of fiber. If you do, don't wash it down with epoxy!

Carbon is black, unless it's compressed into diamonds. The difference between the UV resistant wire ties and the non-UV resistant ones (for example) is the UV resistant ones are black, due to the carbon (graphene) mixed in the plastic.

I would say the answer is no; you couldn't have a clear carbon fiber guitar, unless it was made of diamond.

https://www.chemicool.com/elements/carbon.html

You could have a lexan guitar that's clear.
