And that's how Emerald "collections" get started.

My first Emerald was a previous generation plain black X7. Emerald called them the Opus line at the time; the "upscale" version, with full gloss body, no upcharge for color tint, and the wood veneer as an option was called the Artisan.

I have a real emotional attachment to that X7 - it generally travels with us, and it is something I still frequently pick up and play when we're home. It sounds good, feels good; and I like that classy basic black. The Opus guitars came with "Crystal Ice" finish (a tough textured matte finish on the back and sides with a glossy top and neck. I liked that Crystal Ice finish so much that I ordered it on the custom X10 (shorter scale, long before that was an option on the 3D Builder) I ordered when that model was re-released with the new design in 2018. I don't know if Emerald will do that finish on the back and sides anymore. It is tough and doesn't show marks or fingerprints; and it has a little more "grip" while sitting on your lap.

The evolution of Emerald guitars in the last decade has been interesting to see. The spectacular veneers get a lot of attention (deservedly so), but I also like the carbon fiber weave... and Emerald does that so well.

Well, for good or ill, smart or stupid, the Vivid Blue X10 Slimline Nylon now has my name on it.

Will it be in a shipping video, or is that only for the custom orders?

I just requested to become an Ambassador on the strength of my purchase of the X10 Slimline Nylon.

There aren't THAT many nylons available to try out, and I'll have two of them.

And I agree the weave is nice.

If I was going to order one custom (or if I order a custom one later), it will be the regular, non-vivid weave, no veneer. Probably amber, because that looks so good muted.

But I'm not unhappy with how the vivid blue weave looks in pictures, either.

These days, only the customs show up in the videos. You might want to grab whatever shots you can from the site before they disappear if you need something to drool over before it arrives.

Congratulations, by the way

I'll share 'em with anyone!

I forgot to grab photos before I purchased it, and, of course, they're gone now.

But while I was looking, I saw the customer showcase gallery.

It was easy to find the ones I picked up used.

The natural X20 Nylon was from here in Virginia, the green X10 was at a Guitar Center way out in Scottsdale Arizona.

https://emeraldguitars.com/galleries/x20-n-qm-natural/

https://emeraldguitars.com/galleries/x10-qm-g/

And yet...somehow!...they were both born on the same date.

June 9, 2021

What are the chances????

Default Welp!

I guess there's nothing left for me to talk about now.

...at least, until it arrives.

Oh, yes there is! The wait (the waaaaaait is the haaaardest part), the tracking, but hopefully nothing about getting lost.

I like to think of it as the Bright Side... as in: you are so smart in getting a carbon fiber guitar... or, another carbon fiber guitar.

Heh.

I got accepted to the Ambassador Program.

Told them the serial numbers of my used acquisitions, and Mr. Quigley said he remembered working with the customer on the X20 Nylon.
