Nothing goes with a pool or beach setting like some Bob Marley or Toots and the Maytals - stuff like that. There was a marley tribute band I knew of in Florida. They were always booked months in advance and they played the entire "Legends" album at every gig. People loved it.

Bob Marley
Jack Johnson
Jason Mraz
Sublime
...and pretty much anything else as long as you play it light and bouncy.

To be honest, when someone wants a beachy or summery vibe, it's usually by the beach or in someone's backyard (etc.) where anything I play is going to take on that character anyway. So I just do my normal set and let the beachy/summery context do the rest.

The old Eddie Cochran chestnut, "Summertime Blues"... do it in the key of E and you can use it as a transition/medley song to about anything else in E...

Mungo Jerry (!) had a hit with "In the Summertime", back in the 70's and it was a pretty cool tune.

My latest favorite summer song is a tune by the subdudes called (of all things!), "Papa Dookie and the Mud People"!!! For some reason, it just evokes a lot of great memories for me, from "back in the day"...

All Summer Long by Kid Rock.

Just have to be able to play Werewolves of London and a little bit of Sweet Home Alabama.

Brown Eyed Girl... even Jimmy Buffett calls it the quintessential summer song. AND, it's easy to learn, and people always sing along.

Pencil thin mustache is a great Buffet tune, and has a great chord progression and fun silly lyrics.
