Default NGD Gibson LG2 American Eagle

I seem to be on a Gibson G.A.S. lately!
After picking up the J160e (killer Beatles sound with my Vox AC15) and loving my J45 TV, I wanted something to throw in the truck on the road that gave me the Gibson DNA without risking traveling with my favorites. I have tried many small guitars and realize this is not an inexpensive travel guitar but it does however, give me the sound I love away from home.
This little guy has a nice balance between the bass, mid, & treble. For me, it seems to like fingers for picking and strumming better than a pick. The neck and width are so familiar and perfect for me. Sound-wise, it seems it is a bit ‘green’ but could blossom into something special as it becomes more seasoned (read; me torturing it!). A/B ing against my J45 TV is not fair but still, you know that this a Gibby! Surprising volume with excellent sustain and I just love the natural finish on this one. Plugged it into my Vox and it sounds pretty good! They really are much classier looking at home than looking at them online...

I like that color a lot more than the dark stain Gibson usually puts on mahogany....looks like a Larrivee color scheme...

I've had my American Eagle for a few months now, and it has become one of my all-time favorite guitars, period. It's like a smaller version of a J-35, but I like the LG-2's tone better. I put a J-45 pickguard on mine to protect the finish, but it's almost a shame to cover that silky sitka top.

It's actually a tad smaller than my Martin 00015M. These are approximate:

Body length 19"
Body depth 4.25"
Lower bout 14.25"
Upper bout 11"

Gorgeous! Congratulations. Enjoy and Play on!

Small bodied Gibsons are overlooked and underrated in my opinion.

Really underrated in all areas...I have some nice wood and this little guitar hangs in there with them.

I love these little honey colored guitars. Nothing fancy but pure guitar and pure fun. The rosewood bridge on your particular guitar is just gorgeous.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations! I love mine... These are definitely underrated. Mine doesn't as much as blow me away, as it instead just grows on me.

Very nice. As others have mentioned it looks great in that lighter color. Enjoy!

Fantastic pictures!! I work at Sweetwater and got to play one of these in the new retail store today... I am shocked at how balanced it is for fingerstyle playing. The high strings that usually carry the melody in Tommy/Chet style playing truly sing on this little LG2. I am currently trying to figure out what other gear I can sell to work up the money for this guitar. I bought and sold a Taylor GA-RS on my hunt for the right guitar for me and I really think this little Gibson is "the one". It might not have all the inlay work, bindings, etc from a high dollar guitar, but it just oozes Gibson tone... (and that Nitro finish smells like candy!)
