Default Squier Bullet-- Unexpected Surprise

Hi everyone. I've been playing guitar for 10 years, with my main electric guitar being a Brian Moore i1. However, I was in Guitar Center recently, and saw a beautiful cream colored Squier Bullet. I plugged it in and couldn't believe the sound of it. It's only a $130 guitar.... It sounds as if it's much more $$. Also stays in tune really well. Anyway, I ordered one and couldn't be happier. I love the feel of the neck, its extremely smooth, and I like that the guitar is really light. If you're looking for an inexpensive guitar, certainly check one out. There are many demo videos on Youtube.

I helped a young friend clean up and rebuild a Squier Bullet Hardtail Strat that turned out really well.

The only problem we had was finding a switch for it. The shallower than normal rout in the body wouldn't let me install the usual Fender rotary 5 way switch. We finally found a box style switch to fit. We used the original pickups and like you, I was surprised to hear how good that guitar sounded.

It's about 5 years later and he still has that guitar.

That is cool and good to know. I have an old EX series (low-end Korean made at the time) Ibanez, and other than a little weaker pickups than I would like (replaced years ago) that guitar plays as well as....... really anything I own/have owned.

good deal. the more modest fender stuff is actually very nice for the price. i have a affinity 5 string j-bass that to me is just awesome. sound, playability, fit'n finish, -all seems to be several notches above. i somehow feel that fender gave me more for my money.

I think you made a good choice with the cream color as well. Back in 1983 when Yngwie made his first Rising Force album, I was absolutely blown away by him. It featured a cream colored strat on the album cover, so I always associate that color strat with him.

Got an '86 Squier Strat that was my go-to electric for 20 years, still serves as backup to my P-90 LP...

Here's my somewhat modified Squier '51 - great guitar that totally outplays its weight.
