Default NGD (Pawn Shop)

Was at a local pawn shop to check out their guitars in hopes of finding that hidden gem. Well they literally had one sitting behind the counter in a case with shiny italic letters that said Guild

He opens a case and there sits a mint condition 1977 Westerly made D-50. I was dumb founded by the condition... I thought was quite rare for a 40 year old instrument to be so immaculate. He said he it was his Dad's prized possession who passed away 15 years ago and he only recently got the strength to part with it.

I played a few chords and was instantly sold. Even with dead strings it sounded amazing. I had a local shop give it a once over and some new strings. They were equally blown away by how perfect it was.

Here she is!

Wow that is an amazing find. I don't know if 13 stepper deserves a find like that?

That is pure gold right there! You must be living right to have pulled that in!

So how does it sound compared to the Washburn you bought last week?

But I thought the 13th step is how you find guitars like this!

Guitars+gems-
They compliment each other well! The Washburn has a bit more mid punch and the Guild has a tad more down low, but both sound very vintage

Congrats on the pawnshop find.

That's in killer condition for such an old guitar.

Enjoy that baby.

About 75% of the guitars in my collection come from pawnshops.

If you put in the time and are patient, they can be a goldmine
for great finds.

I'm curious if there are still good deals (price wise) in Pawn shops or has the internet killed that?
