Default Taylor friends.... quick question about bridge pins

Good evening all,

Next time I change strings on my Taylor 210 I want to upgrade the plastic bridge pins to the Taylor ebony ones. On Taylor's website they sell the replacement ebony ones for models 300 and up and the plastic ones for models 200 and below. Do any of y'all know if the ebony ones will fit my 210?

Or do I need to look at some aftermarket ones as soon as I figure out what size they are?

Thanks!

The Taylor Ebony pins should fit your 210 but I would suggest calling Taylor to be sure. If they say yes you can order the pins over the phone at that time.

That is a good question. I would suspect that Taylor doesn't use different taper for bridge pins, for different guitars, but it wouldn't hurt to find out. I would call their
customer service dept. They are great... and I am sure.. if no one on the forum can answer with surety.. that Taylor could answer that one for you.

Well, I'm too late to the party! Looks like the correct answers have been posted

Probably a nice upgrade too, those ebony pins sure look sharp.

You can use the ebony pins with out any issues. Same taper and same fit. Plastic is cheaper than ebony so it is used on the lower end models.

Actually they do.

My GS-Mini uses (and fits) Martin size pins but does *NOT* fit the standard Taylor bridge pins from my 3xx or 7xx.

Thats odd. My GS mini (bought new) accepts Bob Colosi's taylor bridge pins with out any issues.

Well I decided to splurge ($12) and order the nice ones with the inlays and give it a shot. I figured if they don't fit the 210, the might fit one of the other guitars in my fleet.

I also picked up some Gibson replacement rosewood pins on closeout for $7. Figured those might just fit one of our guitars as well.

Got my fingers crossed!

One more vote for yes. I switched the plastic pins in my 214 to the ebony ones with dots from Taylor with no problem.

I appreciate all the input folks! I figured I had enough thumbs up to go ahead and order them.

The 210 is the guitar that probbaly gets played the most between my daughter and I, so I figured I would dress it up a bit. And the plastic pins are showing some use. I was not looking for a huge change in sound.
