Default 18/28

Isn't doing a A/B great! One can judge the tone & feel, the two most important factors in liking a guitar. IMHO

Congrats!

Enjoy!

Enjoy your new D-28! I received mine in October and just love it. I really love the tone and playability of it plus the rosewood they used is extremely nice looking. I love what they did to the D-28 and the D-18, you can't go wrong with either one and maybe eventually you'll get a D-18 to go along with your D-28.

happy pickin'

Debbie

I can't imagine how great the new D28's will sound once they open up.

Magnificent guitar! The 2017 is so responsive, plays great, projects with ease, feels wonderful in the hands with the neck and 1 3/4" spacing. The Tort PG looks great. This 2017 enhanced D28 is my favorite D28 without question.

I could easily love owning one. Ultimately, I opted for the D18 but if I had this 2017 D28, I would be immensely happy! You did good!!! Congrats and play it in the best of health.

+1...I have a '14 D18 and love the vintage changes sonically and visually. So when I heard the new changes to the new D28 I went and played one and I agree how lovely it looked and sounded...Great choice and much congrats!

Congrats. Beautiful guitar and it seems like you found a nice sounding one. Great that you could A/B the two in a relaxed atmosphere.

Thanks for the comments everyone. The D28 really is a lovely guitar and in my opinion Martin have managed to improve on a guitar that was already great. And if it didn't sound and play so great I could quite happily sit in my chair looking at it with a big grin on my face .
As it is, it is 7:30 here in the UK so I reckon I can get 45 minutes of playing in before I head off for work

Have a great day everyone!

You got a GREAT guitar that will give a lifetime of enjoyment. I am enjoying the joyful spirit of this NGD thread! (Especially happy for you since I had the chance to play the 2017 D28 and I know how good that guitar truly is!)

Congrats on that beauty!

Ultimately, I chose the D-18 back over the summer over waiting for the new D-28. I had a chance to play a new D-28 last week, and I must say it was MUCH more appealing to me than the previous version. It sounded like my D-18, but with a scoop from Rosewood. I also think my D-18 vibrates a little more violently due to the scalloping.

It was a really REALLY nice guitar though and hard for me not to walk out with it!!!
