This looks like their take on the Rainsong Parlor, but executed in eKoa. Smaller guitars are really hot these days, so it makes sense that Blackbird is going after that market segment. They have the OM size (Super OM) and the small jumbo (El Capitan) and the 00 (Lucky 13) covered.

I notice that this has a standard paddle head rather than the convoluted version that El Capitan uses. That El Cap head stock looks better in person than in pictures, BTW. I'm curious how its dimensions compare to the Lucky 13. It kinda looks similar except for the cutaway, but has a longer 25.5" scale length.

It's name is Savoy, and it's 0 size, similar to the Martin 0, and the Rainsong Parlor, but very different tonally. It's quite an amazing guitar.

Thanks Ted, it looks great.

I'll be waiting for an OM size in eKoa I think, but I'm still in love with my L13, so no rush.

Thanks Ted.... wow very cool and very smart of Blackbird. They really know there niche and it slots nicely into their product range without cannibalizing their other wonderful guitars. Looks like the Savoy has a beveled back and a nice and comfy cut away. Also all the great features like a hollow neck and multiple sound ports. It is quite a unique offering and stunning to look at. Can't wait to hear it and the reviews!!!!

The specs are now on the website with one video:

https://www.blackbirdguitar.com/coll...products/savoy

Scale Length 24.5 in (623mm)
Dimensions 36 x 13.3 x 4.25 in. (91 x 34 x 11cm)

Compare this to the L13:

Scale Length 24.75 in (628.65 mm)
Dimensions 37.5 x 14 x 4.5 in

It's not much smaller.

Hi Ted,

Different tonally in what way? Can you describe? Do you think of it as a versatile guitar suitable for many styles, or more of a blues specific, Gibson L1 type of instrument? I'm not talking Bluegrass, of course, but a broad range of modern fingerstyle music, Celtic, dropped tunings, etc.

The earlier press release stated a scale length of 25.4 inches.

However, the specs on the Blackbird website states a scale length of 24.5 inches.

Big difference. Ted or Joe, can you please clarify the scale length.

As with other Ekoa models, the tone is warmer than carbon fiber model, and it's definitely more versatile than any small body Gibson.

Sign me up for one, Ted and Joe! My L13 and my Farallon need another sibling.

Ted...

It's hard to tell from the photos but I think Joe said they were going to move to a satin finish is that what these are?

I know that a lot of people do not seem to like the headstock on the El Capitan but I've really grown to like it and to be quite honest like it better than the one that's on the Savoy. Of course that is just in my humble opinion and I will be a bit prejudiced because I have the El Capitan...lol.

Cheers...

Having recently purchased an Ekoa Farallon uke from Blackbird, I am super interested in their Ekoa guitars - but the El Capitan was just a bit big for me. This Savoy is just about the size of my Emerald X7, so I am going to find this very hard to resist.

Steve if you get a chance to play one I am positive you absolutely love the sound from the Ekoa... I truly love my El Capitan.
