Red-eye EQ
how best to EQ the red-eye into my AER compact 60/4 amp. the amp EQ or a seperate eq

Fool around the amp tone knobs and the Red-Eye treble knob first. That should do it, but if it doesn't, there are lots of good EQ pedals around.
I'm not fussy, so I just have some cheap used Danelectro Fish & Chips EQs. Used to have a swanky ten-band MXR pedal that could be great for your purposes. If you get the MXR, be sure to use the 18-volt adapter that comes with it, not a standard 9-volt pedal adapter. |

Where would you put the eq before or after the red eye.

In this context it seems wise to plug your guitar into the preamp, then the preamp into the EQ, then that into your amplifier. You may also want to consider a parametric EQ pedal, rather than a graphic EQ pedal, for better precision.

Your Red Eye has an effects loop. That is the in and out jacks on the right side of the RedEye.
