Dudenbostel OM-42
Here's a kinda' compressed history of an OM-42 in Carpathian/Brazilian that Lynn is starting to put under finish. It's the "twin" of the 12 fret D-42 that he built for me a couple of years ago. That thread is in here somewhere, if you're curious.
For my taste, he's a top 3 in the world of Martin vintage style builders, but he's a good friend as well, so maybe I'm a bit prejudiced. But some others here may weigh in as well... In any case, I hope you enjoy the pics. I'll do one more round after this if you want. Last edited by JCM615; 11-03-2023 at 10:42 PM. Reason: Inability to write simple sentences |

Someone posted this picture several years ago, I think it is
about the coolest headstock ever: I live just a few hours from his shop, but I guess luthiers would never get any work done if guitar fan boys were lined up at their shop doors in the morning... -Mike |

Beautiful guitar!
I have a rosewood Dudenbostel.......pegwinder. I don't know if he still makes these, but they are very cool, and work extremely well.

He still makes 'em occasionally, mine's in curly maple. So yours probably has more resonance and sustain...

It's going to be a great beauty, I'm sure.
Just wanted to say years ago I met Lynn who took the time to show me around his shop and talk about the mandolin he was working on that day. What a thoroughly nice, thoughtful man he is. It was a great pleasure to spend an hour with him, although I don't think I'll ever be able to own one of his instruments.

Oh my! A Dudenbostel. As good as acoustic guitars (and mandolins) get.
Be still my heart. Thank you for sharing the build with us.

And, again, oh my, a Dudenbostel OM-42. There aren't and never will be better acoustic guitars.

Thank you sir! You've owned and played enough wonderful guitars to appreciate the workmanship. |

Thank you, Paul! It's kind of a "negative twin", Braz trimmed in Koa vs Koa/Braz, but the same custom inlay pattern, Rodgers tuners, fingerboard from the same piece of ebony, both 42 style of course. Here's older brother... |
