Default April, Come She Will by Paul Simon (cover)

This is my cover of Paul Simon's 1965 song, "April, Come She Will." Until recording it this afternoon, I never realized how short this song is -- 2 minutes! Paul Simon sang this song solo on his Columbia "Songbook" album, and Art Garfunkel sang this song on Simon & Garfunkel's 2nd Album "The Sounds of Silence."

This is one of the earliest songs I learned on the guitar so it's been in my repertoire for more than 50 years. The guitar is my Santa Cruz OM/PW. Thank you all so much for listening! - Glenn

Beautiful! Enjoyed your singing very much.
Haven't heard the song since I gave away my cassettes 15 years ago.

Glenn, that was wonderful! I love that song. One of my earliest guitar buddies played it beautiful and I learned it from him. I think it was the first fingerstyle piece I ever tried to learn. I'm sure my arrangement wasn't nearly as pretty as yours!

Excellent job. Thank you for choosing that tune. The OM/PW sounds great.

Thanks very much for listening and commenting here!

Yes, the song is definitely an oldie!

Hi Kerbie,

Thanks so much for your comments!

I do think a lot of people learned this song at one time or another. And if a guitar player hasn't learned it, it's a good one to try.

I'm very pleased that you like this!

- Glenn

Very nice, Glenn. This is one of a few of Paul Simon's guitar arrangements that caught my attention over the past year, absolutely gorgeous. I'm guessing this one would have sounded fantastic on any of your fine guitars.

Hi Paul,

Thanks so much for your thoughts and for taking the time to listen!

This is a good fingerstyle song to learn to play in my opinion. At least it certainly appealed to me since the first time I heard it back in 1965.

I agree with you, too, that this song would sound good on just about any good guitar that was in tune! I picked the Santa Cruz OM/PW simply because I wanted to play that guitar and since I had just changed the strings.

I learned to play this song on my old Harmony 12-string. I think the song definitely sounds better on a 6-string guitar, but at the time, the Harmony 12-string was my only guitar.

Very nicely performed. That has always been a favorite - ever since I saw it performed live - many decades ago. You did Simon and Garfunkel proud.

Thank you very much Bill!

Very nice of you to listen and comment!

I don't know why it took me so long to get around to recording this song, since I have it memorized and I've known it for such a long time. My wife suggested it quite a while ago.

Glad you enjoyed this!

Am doing good. Settling into our retirement place. (We moved 70 miles north of our old home and are now in Snohomish County out near Kayak Point.) Our best to you and Dot.
