One of the best Dreds I have played in recent years is the Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Studio but apparently they are getting to be hard to find.

Your budget may impact your decision quite a bit.

In any case, do take a serious look at the Huss and Daltons - they are making some very fine guitars and appear to be putting out only +/- 230-250 guitars every year.

Still GASing though....maybe I need to revisit the 12 string.

Nice. It's cool to know that your A&L you've had for 15 years is still doing it for you!

I just bought a Simon & Patrick folk guitar this past weekend. I hope that I , too, will love it in 15 years from now like I do at this moment.

Now... as for those 12-string guitars.....

New thread required!!!!

hehehe

There hopefully will be a NGD thread for a 12 string.

Little nervous on this one though as I would have to order the guitar without having played it first. It would match one of my Jumbos and I' probably be the only one to hve the matched pair.

I hope your S&P will give you years of enjoyment!

Default Halcyon

Starting $1299 CAN you can get a dread that will sound like a 5K guitar but better yet, Ed has made them for those looking for a Martin, Gibson and Taylor tones i.e. He can help you achieve a unique tone and look for your guitar.

Why no Martin? It's the first thing that comes to mind when someone says dread!

That's probably the reason! With so many alternatives it's good to explore a little without resorting to the usual suspects

Rainsongs are available in a burst finish that may be less susceptible to showing fingermarks.

Gibson J15. And you should really sit down at a store with the new Martin D-18 if you haven't already ... they are really nice!
