Martin PA series - which strings?
Hi everyone,
I'm curious what strings you all are using on your Martin Performing Artist line guitars? I'm still using the factory light set that came on my DCPA4 but am thinking light/mediums would sound good too. Thank you!

Even though I am very fussy about my guitars and picks, I am not one of those folks who use different strings on different guitars, I find a string I like and use it on all my gits.
I use DR rare 12's on all my Martins including my GPCPA1.

Hi OP. I have tried a bunch on my GPCPA4 but the standout on this guitar for me is the DR Sunbeam PB Mediums (12-54), which are the same gauge as the Martin Lights (MSP7100) that shipped with your guitar.
The downside is that I only get ~ 3 weeks out of the DRs compared with ~ 5 weeks on the MSP7100. However the DRs sound more lush and provide more overtones. They are also supposed to be softer on the fingers as they are round core but frankly I can't feel much difference.

I've never used anything but lights (12-54) on my Martin DCPA-4 ... use mediiums (13-56) on my D-18 however.

DR Sunbeam mediums are the bomb on my OMCPA4!
