I started out on a Boss ME-50, which probably can still be found for a pretty good price used. Very easy to work with too compared to many other multieffects pedals.
I've heard the new Line6 PODs floor multieffect pedals are good too. I hear lots of good things about them. But the Zoom pedal you linked too looks really cool as well. |

POD HD500 with a good guitar. They remodeled all the amps and upgraded the processing power. It was a lot to wrap my head around, but it was so worth it. I just love this pedal. I have learned SOOOOOOO much by having it, since it forced me to read hundreds of pages to understand how each implement works. I find you have to know how the original amp or pedal functions to get the most out of this unit. The on board looper with half time and reverse buttons is cool too, even though you only get 48 seconds max. Having this has made me a better sound man as I better understand signal processing, signal chain and DSP useage.

I looked at the PODs, and I really want something fairly simple. I have a Spider Jam amp that is a bit complicated, and I am not even close to figuring out how to really use the Roland GR-55. I can probably get away with three pedals, in reality; an overdrive, a delay and maybe a boost or something. It is kind of why the Zoom appeals to me.

By far the Bogner Red pedal. So much that I bought two of them, just for a back up. They are to emulate the Red channel of the Bogner XTC. And they do it very well.

Yes indeed! Very touch sensitive and a great sound. From a whisper to a roar with just a hint of dark fuzz. Fun for the whole family!

Mine is the Lovepedal Kalamazoo. It will do almost any gain tone I want with just altering my right hand attack. Second would be my Rockbox Boiling Point...super versatile too.

I just built a replica Big Muff Pi and the thing sounds great! My favorite pedal though is probably my modded Boss MT-2. Pryor to the mod it was virtually unplayable. I tossed it in a box for like ten years before some one told me about the mod. Now it's just fantastic.
Sitting in my mail box according to the USPS tracking system right now as I am at work is my latest. Not really a pedal per se but the Sarno Steel Guitar Black Box tube powered line buffer. Can't wait to get home and try it. |

Unless playing really dry signal'ed stuff, pretty much always have this one running in some capacity, even if the depth is cranked way down.
Other than a Bad Monkey, I don't think I have a pedal on the board that's newer than 20 years old |

It's hard to get rid of an "old" pedal when they work so well. I think my MXR micro amp will still be on my board in 20 years (it's only 5 years old). I have Boss pedals I bought in the late '80s and still have the original packaging ... but I never really cared for them on my board so they're back in their boxes.

Yeah I have an old OC2 that gets pretty regular slot in the board rotation.
I guess the OC2 was the last analog Octave Boss made before going digital, but I haven't verified that. It's not that I'm closed-minded to buying new pedals. It's just that I have yet to hear one that inspired me so greatly to alter what I spent years developing. EHX has made a few that tempted me, but not much else. |

My favorite is a '78 Echoplex EP-3.
It's about as clean and pristine as you are going to find. After that it might be the Barber Tone Press Parallel compressor. Bob

After playing one yesterday, I need to change my answer to a Univibe or one of the clones. That's a cool effect!

Im partial to the Ibanez EM5 Echomachine.
Very old tape like analog sounding delay . They don't make em anymore, but folks are hip to them now. I've snagged a couple on Ebay....
