And watching that video, the label in NOT crooked, the bracing is and it is on a very small back IMHO, which is why I think it's a new smaller model.
Thought the same thing.

That would be cool. Their CNC use could make it relatively affordable.

+1, for sure.

I'm guessing a new bracing pattern. I don't think the video had anything to do with the announcement except to generate buzz. Which, evidently, the achieved.

I would like to see Taylor release a series of traditional sounding guitars with the complement of Taylor features that their fans enjoy. I happen to like the ES2, NT neck, controls on the upper bout, etc. I just want one that sounds more like a Martin. Actually, the new 810E Deluxe is haunting me. I played one that should have gone home with me. :-)

I bet you nailed it - I bet Andy invented a whole new bracing pattern that will "change everything"

All Bob ever wanted to do is just build guitars and he wants the legacy of Taylor guitars to live on in the future when he retires.

Could be, it was applied for 2015 and granted in 2016 (but it may have been in testing and implementation) since then... They will likely spring it at NAMM.

You heard it first in my post #32 in this thread.

The patent is painful to read, here is what I think is the relevant part: "There exists between the two considerations of the structure supporting the strings a direct opposition. Namely, opposition between the rigidity needed for long sustaining vibration and flexibility needed to produce audible volume in the form of vibrational amplitude. Conventionally, instruments are constructed in a manner which attempts to balance rigidity and flexibility to result in a musical instrument possessing both sustain and volume.

Typical guitars and similar instruments often employ a series of structural supports on the underside of the top or face of the instrument, commonly with two main supporting braces arrayed in an intersecting arrangement resembling the letter X........ This method is a compromise between the rigidity of the instrument's top and its flexibility and ability to vibrate......"

Presumably Power's new (patented) bracing results in less of a compromise, Taylor doesn't say.....

Meanwhile, back in December, Taylor published a blog right under our noses to start teasing about the tradeoff between sustain and volume. Until now...
