Default 16" steel leveling beam

Amplified parts sell one of these, but I can't seem to find the straightness tolerance. Anyone have experience with this product?

Besides that...it doesn't even tell you what it's made out of. I made some aluminum ones and still use them some, but I like the steel one I bought better. Much heavier. Weight is important. I use a 16" and an 8".

Take it to a machine shop and have them grind it flat for you if you're concerned.

Weight of sanding beam is very much a personal preference.

Long ago, I used to fill my aluminum box section beam with sand , with wedges at either open end, but I have since decided that I prefer the beam just as it is, with no extra weight ... as always, YMMV ...

It's stainless steel. My brother in law works in a machine shop. I'll see what he can do.

I love mine. I got it from Stew Mac if I remember correctly. It's a relatively new tool for me but I love it now. I like the heavy weight of it. Makes a compound radius simple.
