Smile My Cornerstone SJ Build

Hi Guys, I've recently signed up here after lurking for a while, so firstly 'hello' to everyone!

Peter is building me one of his lovely looking small jumbo models, which got underway a couple of weeks ago. Main details are small jumbo body, Adi top and Camatillo R/W back and sides. I've also asked for a 5 piece neck and a soundport, and I'm leaning towards Koa binding at the moment.

Peter has been a pleasure to work with also thus far, a very nice guy. One thing I haven't asked him though, is if I have the pleasure of being his first Australian customer? (I wince when I hear the exchange rates each day - our dollar is down about 15c against the USD from when I was first got in contact )

But enough talk, here are the pictures

The top and back woods

Rosette in progress and finished

And the bent sides. Unfortunately Peter tells me the sapwood won't be visible once the binding is on. I was thinking it could look kinda cool having a line of sapwood around the lower bout. But not to worry, I think the sides still look lovely.

I have never had the HONOR of playing a completed Cornerstone. BUT I have seen a BEAUTIFUL Cornerstone in progress and met Peter.

He is a wonderful man with an obvious love of quality guitars.

I would love to own one of Peter's guitars.............

Congratulations........

Russ,
thanks for the kind words. If all works out timewise I'll be bringing the Genesis and the Zion to the next gathering.....

you are indeed my first Ozzy customer! I can't wait to have one of my SJ's singing in those parts of the world!

Welcome to the AGF and to the Cornerstone family, Ozsi

I think Koa binding would look great on this one. Enjoy the ride!!

Thanks for the welcome, guys. You can be sure I'll post updates as they come through - I've loved following others build threads in the past but I never thought I'd get the chance to actually own the guitar at the end of one of them

Wow, as much as any hand made guitar is unique, it's going to be a special feeling knowing that I have the ONLY Cornerstone in the country! (at least until word gets out )

G'day, mate!

Welcome to the Cornerstone Family!!! I promise you, you won't be sorry... it's going to be loads of fun. Except the part where you wait for the baby fly over by plane.
