Default More acoustic guitar and mandolin

I wrote this tune a few years ago and an old friend had written a melody and lyrics for it. Thought I'd try an instrumental version.

Got a new interface for my DAW. It's a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Nice, solid unit, great little mic preamp and interface.

Thanks for listening

Terrific song - I enjoyed that. Mix was also great.

Sounds good, Denis! Is there a banjo buried in the mix or is that a second mando part plucking the chords? It is barely audible in headphones but it has a definite "plinking" sound. I enjoyed the listen...thanks for sharing it here.

No Bob, no banjo in there. However, if I had one, I would definitely have considered including a track on this recording. It is a second mando part. There's a mandolin strumming along with the guitar and another used with guitar for the lead line.

Thumbs up

Very nice. I've been listening a lot to the Grisman and Rice Tone Poems CD recently. Sometiems thats all you need: a mandolin and a guitar.

Thanks bagpipe. I've listened to that CD many time myself. I don't think my playing is anywhere near that level though!

No, and neither is mine. I just meant the combination of mandolin and guitar only is frequently a good one.

I like this a lot. I can picture someone driving along in a car or spending time at the beach with this music in the background. Nice playing on the instruments as well. Are there lyrics to this song also.

Thanks Larry. There are lyrics, I didn't write them though. A few years back, I was jamming with an old friend from high school. She came up with a melody and lyrics. We never officially recorded it but we did make a video.

Maybe I'll do a version with vocals eventually.
