Chuck Barris has passed away
Just saw that former game show host, producer & songwriter Chuck Barris passed away last night:

I used to love the Gong Show. Barris was ahead of his time. All the "talent" shows on TV today pretty much stole Chuck's format.

"Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind" the adaptation of his memoir is a fun watch IMO. Wonder how much of it is true?

You can just hear "Jumpln at the Woodside" as he shuffles through the Pearly Gates.

I just watched a Gong Show episode on YouTube with my 9 year old. Hysterical! On a more serious note though, Chuck worked as a CIA assassin in the 60's. The Cia denies this. RIP Chuck.

Was the gong show the ancestor of delusional people getting air time? Is it the first "Reality Show"?
It's hard for those who grew up with the internet and cable to believe but we used to hope and pray that the Unknown Comic and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine would come on
