Thumbs up Perfect Rainsong P12 Gigbag: Road Runner RR2PAG Boulevard Series

Hi Everyone,

Know that there has been lots of threads on this subject and gig bags are very subjective. Here is one that met my requirements:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My requirements:
* black or grey... travel a lot on airlines and needs something that does not draw attention and blends into my luggage.
* Not very bulky... form fitting the guitar again very minimal bulk as not to be tagged for checkin by less sympathetic stewardess.
* flexible straps that can be either removed or hidden (not to catch on the various armrests ..ect
* Flexible strap configurations. (A sling strap that allows the guitar not to extend beyond my head allows you to get past stewardess and does not draw attention.
* External pockets.
* Inexpensive... under $100.

With all the above said the Road Runner RR2PAG fits the bill perfectly!!!
* Black and grey
* Fits like a glove (guitar is snug in case and does not slip around. Will not fit the P14 as I believe it is longer then P12) The Boulder bag that ships with the non electric P12 is too long for the guitar by a couple of inches.
* You can hide the backpack straps for the airport and just attach a sling strap that attached at the top and bottom of the bag. Makes the guitar low profile to enter the plane.
* Multiple pockets... one on the neck, and one on the body area. The straps have a phone pocket with earphone port. More then I need but great flexibility.
* Only $60 with free shipping!!!

Very happy with the bag and heading tomorrow to San Fran with my P12 for a week of customer meetings and glad to know I will be able to unwind with my P12...

Will be stopping by to say hi to Joe and our friends at Blackbrid guitars and see if I can try the new Savoy. Will report back on my thoughts on this NEW guitar.

Hope this helps people like me who are picky about gig bags and were looking for a solution.

Chris

Nice. I have the boulder but might have gotten this if I'd seen it.

Do you have trouble on the plane? I'm headed to Hawaii next month...3 flights each direction.

Am wondering if I'll have to check my parlor. United Airlines.

thanks

I know Carbon Fiber is tough, but there is no way I would take one on an airplane in a gig bag.

You are far braver than I.

I'll be ordering mine with the hard case.

I have one of the Boulder Alpine bags for my Larrivee Parlor. It's clearly made for a 14-fret design. Snug everywhere except the headstock where there are a couple of extra inches. I do like the light tan color though.

It would be great if you could post pictures of the guitar in the bag to see the fit first hand. Thanks!

Here is how my RainSong H-DR1100N2 looks in a Taylor DR bag, which I think is a really good fit and pretty good protection considering the lack of bulk:

Definitely a Perfect Fit there! So will that be able to be carried in the plane? I am wondering about that!

Checked Amazon...All Gone

I have had good luck with the following...especially #7

http://truefire.com/blog/guitar-less...with-a-guitar/

Most cases (no pun intended) if it is a small guitar the stewards if there is no room will hang in the coat closet. I always pay for the early boarding.... when in doubt be polite and have never been turned away...

Hope this helps...

Chris

this bag works really well for small acoustics/parlors:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GB4GMiniac

now its not heavily padded-but all the material is heavy duty, everything works really smooth(zippers, straps) and most important to me, it hangs really balanced over a shoulder and doesn't stick up a foot above my head.

carries my Yairi Parlor perfect.

10,000 feet? Hope that is on climb-out, if you are going over the Rocky Mountains.

Glad to hear the guitar made it safely into the cabin! Enjoy your travels!
