Default SWR Strawberry Blonde acoustic amp....

I had one of these about 6 years ago and stupidly sold it. It still haunts me today. Anyone here play one? Are they as great as I remember? Know anyone who's selling one?

I am just the reverse.... After buying the California Blonde I liked it so much I went back to the shop a few months later and also purchased the Strawberry Blonde and they are both still in use. You might also check your local craigslist also call around to your local shops that take in used gear. The latter is a pain because unless you have a friend at the shop they will foreget you and will not call you when one showes up. If you get to Cincy or Cleveland check CL before you go. Good Luck.

Yeah, I have one and play through it regularly. Love the sound and the punch it has. I use the DI out of the back to the PA when I use it at church, with great results.
I remember when I was trying out amps at the store, I was comparing it with some others, and while of course some of the other amps sounded good too, their sound was somewhat 2-dimensional compared to the strawberry. I know it isn't the most "natural" sounding amp - but I like how it sounds.

actually I was thinking of selling mine to get cash for other equipment. I have some lookers locally but no guarantees as of today. I can let you know. It's a Strawberry Blonde II. And yes it is a top notch amp.

Hi nameless steed…
I see I’m coming into this 'late'...

My gigging partner has a Blonde (the 12'' two way with switchable high freq drive model) so he can play bass through it, and acoustic, and sing...and we have demoed a lot of SWR amps. I’ve listened to it now for 6 years plus, and it sounds like an acoustic playing through an amp...not a louder version of an acoustic.

Honestly, the current crop of semi-high end acoustic amps out there are better sounding for acoustic than the Blondes...though they can put some volume into a venue, and they work great with a vocal mic as a small PA...and they are reliable.

Some of them are not well shielded and do pick up radio stations on occasion...
