FS: BNIB Hiscox Artist series classical case, sz L
Hey all!
I put together a group buy for a bunch of teachers in my region on some Hiscox Artist Series flight cases (top of their line, the spendy ones with the thickest shells and the leather handles, etc.) using the connection from my amplifier endorsement, and I have one left out of the batch of 8 (I had to buy them in sets of 4 to get the best wholesale price). If anyone wants the last one, it's yours for $385 net, shipped to you ground, CONUS only. Still new in the box as it shipped from Hiscox distribution to Eric Sahlin's shop. It's black/silver, like the one here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...ilver-interior Any questions, let me know. Just looking for what I've got into it. (killer cases, btw, I bought the ivory version for my Sahlin). Thanks for looking, -MM |

Can you tell me if this case would fit a Lowden S?
Thanks and good luck with your sale |

New or old body? I had one of the older S-25s.
Sorry for the delay, btw: gone for the 4th... |

No worries. It 's old body size I think.
Serial #9375 Label is white w/green border which I think means late 90's-early 2000's? |

Oh yeah, definitely the old shape. Let me pull the measurements and check!
Might actually be the right fit; I'll email George and ask him what he ordered for the old S. |

So, here's what I found out. The measurements for a 1992-2003 Lowden S should be as follows:
Nut: 1 ¾” Width at 12th Fret: 2 3/16”* Lower Bout: 14 ½”* Body Bepth: 4 1/8”* Scale Length: 25 ½”* Here's the specs from my Sahlin Classical: lower bout: 14.5” body depth: 4” even 39” overall length 19 1/4” body If you double check those above measurements and find that they are correct, then it should be a great fit; the only concerns would be the length of the body by itself (make sure it's not over 20”) and the overall length from the tailblock/strap button to the top of the headstock: that's *got* to be less than 41”; frankly 40” would be more ideal for travel, since you want some room there. Hope that helps; let me know if you're interested at your leisure. Best, -MM |

Joe, the case is roughly 43 inches overall length, 17 across the widest part of the lower bout, and 7 1/2 inches deep at the deepest part (lower bout), all external dimensions. Looks like the inside is about right for your S body.
Dale, I sent you a PM and an email; thanks for your patience, folks, I gig a lot during the summer to keep things afloat. -MM |
