I have the two solo acoustic albums which I like a lot. I saw him with David Lindley this summer. The show started really slow and never quite took off, a pace not quite matching the large outdoor venue (WolfTrap in Vienna, VA). Still enjoyable, though. I like Jackson's playing a lot. It's quite sophisticated.

I agree he's one of the best ever - I like James Taylor, but I always thought Jackson was just as good.

We caught them performing in Goldendale, Washington at the Maryville Winery amphitheater which is located east of Portland on the Columbia river.

I think the highlight of the show for me personally was when they cut David Lindley loose on his own and he performed "Cat Food Sandwiches". Awesome. That's not a knock on Jackson Browne as I would definitely would like to go see one of his solo acoustic shows in the future- I hope he keeps doing them for some time to come.

I agree. Actually, Jackson's best songs touch me more than James's best songs.

Wow, that is a lot of guitars. Saw Leo Kottke Saturday night, who apparently needs fewer on stage. He had a Taylor six string and a Taylor 12 string (twelve string had a plastic swizzle stick serving as an end pin).

Default Jackson's fav gtr

Gibson Roy Smeck model is his favorite. The new JB model starts there.

I've been a fan since Saturate Before Using, but I'm seeing him for the first time in Toronto in April.

Hey thanks for this post. After reading it, I went on line and he's coming to my town. Got tickets.

I saw him years ago when he was touring the Everyman album, but haven't since. Should be great.

Goldenbird, I absolutely agree. I think from a songwriting standpoint Jackson is the best hands-down. I merely meant that James Taylor seems more popular and never understood why Jackson wasn't appreciated more.

Jungle, I was at the same show in Bakersfield, very nice.

BTW, the Martin is a D45, not a D41. Best sounding of all his guitars, I thought, was the Ryan, next the Martin D45, then a Martin 000-15. Most of the Gibsons were a little too boomy, not bright enough for my taste, but YMMV, obviously Jackson's does.

One thing I noticed is how many of his guitars are short scale. Wonder why?

Took my own picture of his guitars. I counted 18, with the model behind the chair which he played at the end, loved its sound. This is his guitar tech tuning up before the show.
