Looks great, Woody--the shadows are a cool touch. Really like how well it works with the bound fingerboard!

That looks great. I love the shadow effect and the non-contiguous rosette pattern. It looks great with the fretboard binding as well!!!!! Super cool.

Yikes,
Scraping down the purfling opened up gaps. Hopefully those can be pus ephod back together, or else I'll have to bring out the big guns. One way or another there all be no gaps

Well John, If there's one thing I know from the MANY builds you've done, this one will be really good at all levels. What I really don't know...however...is what in the heck "pus ephod back together" means . But, what I think it means is "fat thumb syndrome" has struck again and spellcheck didn't catch it. How do I know?? It happens to me ALL the thyme

Pus ehod is a technical term known only to old time luthiers. A strict code of honor forbids me from revealing it's true meaning. To do so would incur a penharb ud frenxz.

A few more progress photos from John:

Padouk neck block with rosewood reinforcement. Padouk is a VERY musical wood with interlocking grain that resists splitting.

Fitting the cutaway...

...and the sides

Default Yes,

I'm entirely interested in this beauty! Sinker was on the short list of my De Jonge build but euro spruce won out. Under a Kinnaird hand this combo should be unbelievable!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I am really enjoying working with John. I think this guitar has the potential of being very special. As I was looking at these pictures, I was reminded of how cool the sapwood can look and how it gives a guitar a very distinct personality. I think when the Sinker goes on top, and we get some of the other appointments "installed", it should rock .
