OK folks, more pictures from Stockholm. The body of the guitar has now been bound (in ebony) and the end graft completed :

Ted had the following comment in the e-mail he sent me with these photos:

"One of the most fun things is guitar making is when you scrape down the binding and see the contrast for the first time, I think the Madagascar looks amazing with the ebony."

I think it does look really good, I am extremely pleased with how this build is progressing...

Cheers,

Ian

Love the clean lines and the aesthetics of this guitar--so elegant! Congrats to you--really looking forward to seeing it under finish.....

Ted has now started work on the neck. We decided to go with the burl for the headstock plate. Ted has introduced a slight bevel on his headstock design. The darker wood is some madagascar rosewood as a sort of sandwich effect. I think it complements the burl very nicely.

More to follow from Ted in the new few days...

Cheers,

Ian

Today started with an e-mail from Ted with this picture. His message : "The fretboard is now glued to the neck, the angle and joint sanded and everything's pretty much ready to start shaping it" (the neck). The picture is not great as he took this with his phone.

Cheers,

Ian

This looks super crisp work combined with super refined aesthetic.

These Nordic luthiers are definitely on a roll currently.

Cheers,
Steve

After a break, some more pictures from Sweden. I really like the segmented backstrip and the ebony binding against the Madagascar rosewood looks really good.

The burl headstock is completely mad - you could lose yourself in there...

Cheers,

Ian

Looking great Ian - but ready for your get-together in just a few weeks?

I hope so!

Beautiful work--I'm hoping my own Nordic luthier will finish soon as well.

I really don't know Steve, probably touch and go for that, although Ted himself will be here. We now have all the former office space to ourselves this year to stash guitars...

Cheers,

Ian
