Default Bach - mandolin duet

One of the "Inventions" originally written for keyboard by J.S. Bach. This is a transcription by Mike Marshall and Caterina Lichtenberg for 2 mandolins. Here it's our son and I, he's on the left, playing the right hand part and I'm on the right, playing the left hand, which is backwards I realize, but how we were sitting. (If there'd been an audience, from their view it would have been oriented correctly ).

So, no guitars, but this is a diversion I've been working on for closing in on two years now. The ship is going to change course real soon as we are slated to play at my niece's wedding in a few months as a guitar+violin duo. Keeps me hopping

That was cool, I love the Inventions with mandolins. I mean heck, I like mandolin duos and I like Bach so of course I love Bach with two mandolins! Very nicely done.

Quite a few years ago I cobbled together Invention #1 with me playing one part on mandolin and the second part on a MIDI keyboard. Not nearly the level of playing in your performance but it was a fun recording project.

Outstanding.

I love mandolins, and own a 1933 Gibson A that I play often.

Mighty fine.
