Default NGD! My new Datlen OM-C

I commissioned John last year after playing a number of his guitars and absolutely loving the sound and feel of them. John is an exceptional wood worker with an innate ability to bring sound out of a box. As a 2017 SBAIC invite it appears other folks have started to notice John's work as well.
He was a joy to work with and I'm so excited to get my Datlen OM-C next week! We went with really cool ribbon figured Honduran mahogany paired with a beautiful Adirondack top. Thick Ebony binding was used to frame in the golden HOG but John kept that to the sides of the guitar while thinning the profile of the binding on the top and back. As the inlay goes, rosette included, John selected a lovely dyed maple burl with greens and swirled gold accents throughout.
14 frets to the body and a standard scale, with a jet black Ebony board. The truss rod cover is still drying but I'll show you some of the pictures John blew me away with yesterday and then I'll update next week when it comes home!

Your new guitar is looking really nice. Before I read your description I was thinking it was Cuban Mahogany (sure looks like the stuff from Brad Goodman), either way the wood looks special and I'd imagine the sound will be also.
