In addition to that I've found that it does two other things normally....

it acts like a breather hole on a gas can and allows more sound out the front.

It can also smooth out the balance out front and the guitar is less boomy and easier to mic.

I would just like to add that I've had dealings with Trevor and he could not have been more helpful. he went out of his way to help me.
I also own a Kronbauer and it is a terrific guitar. The fact that it is great value for money is a bonus. I have no hesitation in recommending him. The sound, build quality, fit and finish is astounding.

Wolfram Slides' demo guitar is a Kronbauer SMB (small body), in Engelmann spruce and macassar ebony. It was actually Trevor Kronbauer's 'Builders Choice' for July 2013.

I bought it through the Acoustic Music Company (Kronbauer's representative in the UK) but have conversed with Trevor Kronbauer since and he was perfectly responsive - I have no reason to believe there would be any problems dealing with him.

My SMB itself is spectacular for the money, and at least as good as many guitars I play costing two or three times as much. Certainly with UK pricing, where it is in the same ballpark as a standard Martin 18 or 28 series, it absolutely blows them out of the water.
