I'm not normally much of a burst fan, but this one definitely changes my opinion. That is really beautifully done, Brad!

Wow, thanks so much for the compliments, guys! I'm humbled...

I'll likely be able to get strings on it this weekend, very excited to hear this one. The tap is DEEP and lively. Stay tuned...

Default Caspian 00

Hi Brad

Beautiful Caspian 00 !!

I received your Kolaya last month. I have not played my Greta once since the first strum on your OM. Exceptional craftsmanship. I would best describe the Alpine Spruce / Black Limba as crystalline, pure and focused. Flawless fit and finish.

I sincerely hope you are able to find the sweet spot between your Kolaya and Oxwood line of guitars. I would not hesitate one moment to recommend a custom build by Brad Daniels.

Thanks Brad

Well, thank you! Very kind words. I'm glad you're liking the Ox. That guitar was one that my wife and I both were a little heart broken to see go. Enjoy it, friend.

So, the Caspian Prototype is now strung up and singing like a bird. As a demo/prototype I'll be keeping this one around for myself...indefinitely. There are a few tweaks I'll be making but I'm so happy with the outcome that I am ready to take orders for the Caspian. It will take a bit to get it on my website but just email if you're interested! I won't be sending this one on a road trip but for those who've placed a deposit and are considering a Caspian, I'll be happy to send it on a short visit to help with your decision.

I still have to clean the fingerboard and dress/polish the frets, but I've been playing it all morning and it's so nice.

Nor would I! I'm still enjoying my Carmen tremendously. I should add that Brad is a delight to work with, too!

I had a chance to play Wency Jrs Carmen and it is a stellar instrument, easily one of the most comfortable necks I have ever had the pleasure of playing!! I can only imagine the Caspian will be an absolute joy! The guitar is simple and beautiful. Love how the burst looks on this!

Wow!! Lots of love for this guitar! Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement!

The guitar came out spectacular sound wise. It's been quite the learning experience. In trying to maximize tonal potential in a small guitar I've learned some very useful things to put into practice on the others. My guitars will not be the same from here on out, that's for sure. This guitar has great volume and a deep and lively resonance to it. It definitely has that "00-ness" to the sound, but it's nice. I'm going to see if I can get a decent recording of it soon...after I've had a chance to break it in a bit. It's my favorite guitar in the quiver at the moment. So comfortable to play. The harmonics are coming more alive by the hour, it seems.

Thanks again for all of the comments and kind words! I currently have one opening for the end of 2014 and am taking orders for 2015. Contact me with interests. Hope to see you all at the Memphis Guitar Show next year!

Brad

A little slideshow accompanied with a raw audio recording. One of my customers dropped by and agreed to play the guitar a little into a recorder. He plays all fingernails and this is straight out of the recorder, which was a Zoom H1. Enjoy.

That does have a great sound. I can see why you wanted to keep it around for a while. Beautiful.
