Paul,

It's very comfortable and it would describe it as medium round shape neck profile. Not as shallow as a Martin OM 42 if that helps.

Default great guitars

These folks build some extremely nice guitars. I went to the exhibition (open to the public) of the GAL last tweekend and got to play their guitars. Really fell in love with a number 1 sized parlor they had there. A bit more paua (sp?) shell than I'm interested in -- wouldn't have mattered anyway as it was owned by a customer that was there at the show with them. Amazing tone and projection from that little guitar though. Maybe will plunk down for one of their CJ models down the road. Any guitar they build is going to be a heartbreaker (in the best sense) I suspect.

Default great guitars

That should've been SJ, not CJ; also very interested by their FS model. Oh, hell I'd take one of each if I'd just hurry up and win the lottery!

stephen kinnaird is a one man operation. he crafts each guitar all by himself as do many of the masters out there will; beneteau, mayes, stephen and john kinnaird. the latter two have their own guitar labels and work separately inspite of their brotherhood.

these kinnairds are very awesome pieces tonally as much as the looks of his pieces are. i have one that i also put on the market a couple of times and yet for now it is kept in my back pocket still.

OP should keep it!

There's always something to tempt you, but nothing will sound better than that Kinnaird.

I have a kinnaird FS & get tempted often by other guitars, but am always glad in long run to keep that FS.

the secret to all this madness...is that there are so many one man masters of luthiery that most won't have the opportunity to enjoy. ryan of course, greenfield, beneteau, kinnaird, woolson, schenk, mayes, maingard, and the list goes on. i am fortunate to have experienced all but the first two.

...nuff said

someone should buy this kinnaird!

I meant Ryan (Nacluth on AGF) Steve K's right hand man. It IS a two man shop.

Oh for crying out loud, if luthiers weren't perpetually broke, I'd buy it back.
It's worth twice that price!
Nay, thrice!

And, we are indeed a two man shop. Like Todd says, Ryan Middlebrook is my right hand man. Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Steve
