Jean don't worry, more of Maurice Roy's awesome Bearclaw and also some real great clear Sitka on the way real soon from him, plus the German spruce that is on the way and several real excellent Englemann tops in my wood pile. You will have way too many options for tops, just to make you crazy trying to decide.

Jean-Francois, yes I am happy with what I see there, at this point the wave form is not that important but the frequency at the highest peak is the resonance of the top at this point of the build.

So is it fair to say that this resonnance peak won't move any more since the box is now closed or will you work on the voicing further. If so how would you do it ?

Jean-Francois The top resonance as with the back and the internal resonance of the box will vary as the build continues. Any change of the stiffness or weight of the top or back will shift their resonance peaks and this will slightly affect the internal resonance. Lots of great references on the web, google fft analysis of acoustic guitars or similar wording and there is enough to keep you busy for way too long.
In case you are interested the 1st side of the Blackwood Baritone in in my bender right now. Fred |

Seriously I'm wondering how could there be a change in stiffness of the top or back at this point of the build ? Hey, how long does it take for an African Blackwood side to be bent ?
