Default Kohno, Traphagen, Langejans, Contreras, Ramirez...?

Your opinions of these Classical Luthiers is requested. I am an acoustic guitar guy and am I looking at these guitars. Most have cedar tops with Brazilian b/s.

Thank you

Thanks...I am zeroing on the Contreras, Traphagen, and Kohno.

Any significant comparisons between a Contreras I or Contreras II?

What Peter/Riffmeister said. Which Kohno?

Every time I hear one of Dake's guitars onstage, it always sounds just right. They are pretty consistently among the best sounding guitars each year at the NWGF collegiate competition.

It's best to start out with something a little lower shelf in my opinion!

With those names, I think what you're looking at is different flavors of superb. When that happens, it pretty much all depends on personal preference, which means playing the guitars, which you probably can't unless you're in a very guitar-lucky location, which is one reason so many of us buy and sell so many guitars.

Absolutely...living in Hawaii creates a lot of distance between us and some tasty guitars. I think I now might decide between an older Manny G Contreras,Sr, 1a guitar with Brazilian and a Del Langejans 10 year old with Braz as well.

Thank you.

I've always liked that model. They have a very clean, pleasing sound and are easy to play, IME.

ps. Hi Bob/Hesson11!
