Thinking about starting my own channel, but not tech savvy...
I'm thinking of starting my own Facebook and/or YouTube channel.of blues and rags, but I don't have really fancy equipment for recording.
Is a Samsung smartphone ok for doing such, or can someone recommend an inexpensive webcam? TIA

Most (probably all) of the videos on my channel of me playing guitar were taken with a smart phone.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8p..._UXXbe2W_STsTw I'd say use your phone and if later you decide you aren't happy with the resolution / quality, remove the videos and replace them with higher resolution. If you look at the small number of views my videos have gotten, it might help keep things in perspective and I've shared them with many friends to get the view count to where it is. The drone videos were taken with the onboard camera (poor resolution) or with a go pro (better resolution) Last edited by tonyo; 12-09-2017 at 07:28 PM. |

Start small and work your way up. You can do some simple phone videos to get used to what you would like to ultimately produce.
I dislike the webcam and "music" camera videos because of the fisheye effect they produce. Check out this current topic: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=491629 You should also go to Fran Guidry's Homebrewedmusic.com which is an excellent resource for creating "Look At Me Play Guitar" videos. http://www.homebrewedmusic.com/ |
