Smile This was mine...

JD got this form me in a trade.
This one is scoped out, set up, and approved by Tim Luranc (Taylor Senior Repair Tech)
I added Buffalo horn bridge pins, which were a nice sound bump from the original plastic! This is a BOSS AXE!

Bet it goes real quick

Cheers

Paul

I want this one... can you move your decimel point to the left just one space? What a stellar guitar.

Rob, would it be possible for you to take a couple more photos, one that shows the entire guitar from the front, and (if you feel like it,) another than shows the guitar from the back? These closeup photos are great, but I don't think I've ever seen a 0000 or Martin jumbo body with a 12 fret body join. Frankly, I can't fully visualize it from the photos you've included.

Thanks,

Wade Hampton Miller

I second Wade’s suggestion. It is an intriguing Martin, and their jumbos are some kind of global secret in the shadow of dreads and OMs ... these fit in a perfect balance in between. However, is this the same depth as other Js? I thuoght 0000s were slightly shallower, but looking at Martin’s specs it’s not clear. * The 12-fret is certainly unusual, and Martin doesn’t do a lot of Maple.

So, my big question (and maybe Paul can help here:-), how would you characterize the tone and balance (with all subjective caveats in place of course)?

*Edit: I ask about the jumbo because the invoice calls it a J18

On a side note, the Martin 0000, or M, is a different animal than the J. Martin calls their J the jumbo, but it is actually more in the line of an auditorium size in other guitar maker's lines. While the 0000 (M) has the same frontal profile & width dimensions as the J, it is shallower, closer to the depth of an OM. So the 0000 (M) is a compromise between the J & OM. And the invoice is indeed confusing, as it is calling this one a J, with the body size of an 0000. So since the model is actually a "J", I'm assuming it has the deeper body as well.

Maybe I can add some pics using the app. Here it is next to an R.T style one. It is less deep than a dread, but the LARGER box provides plenty of volume. Sounded lovely to me. Plenty of bass, and the curvy waist and slightly shallow box make it much more comfy. Plus it is a LOOKER! I hope this works...

PS. The R.T one is 16.25 across the LB. same as a regular Taylor GS/X16

That's a gorgeous guitar. Thanks for going to the effort of posting those photos; it definitely gives us a better sense of the guitar's overall appearance.
