Does anyone know if John is around at the moment. I have emailed and left phone messages on behalf of a customer but had no replies.

I talked to him last week, but he can be pretty tough to get in touch with. I know he's very busy. Not sure if he is in town or not.

That looks AWESOME! The Circa logo on the headstock is very cool.

Yes he is... I was at his shop on Sunday and I spoke with him earlier today. Try email and/or facebook since cell service can be spotty at best in some areas of South Portland, ME.

Wow! This is my dream guitar. Absolutely beautiful, can't even imagine how good this guitar must sound... Thanks for posting.

Also, when I visited John in August, he demonstrated for me how there was something in the construction of the building that houses his workshop that blocks/degrades cellphone signals, which is one reason he's hard to reach. We walked outside and our cellphones worked fine. Be patient; he'll eventually repond.

Also, just for fun, here's a shot of a baker's dozen of Circas with their owners, taken at the Swannanoa Gathering a few years ago. There's not a bad one in the bunch, and most are, in my opinion, spectacular.

Back row, from left to right, they are:
Tony McManus, Ed Dodson (owns three, the lucky dog), Randall Sprinkle, Guitar Week Coordinator Al Petteway, Gathering Director Jim Magill, Steve Baughman, Ray Chesna. Seated in front: the builder, John Slobod

The 00 on the stand to the right was made for Paul Asbell, and Circas are also played by Mark Cosgrove, Stephen Bennett and other professionals.

I just heard from John, thanks if anyone prodded him. He's starting on my OO Macassar ebony (can't wait for that) and will be starting on my customer's mad rose OM in a few months.

That 00 should be awesome, Trevor. Is it similar to the one at HGF 2011?

If it's a macassar ebony 00 with a maple neck, I believe that might be another 'twin' of the one shown here that John made for me...

Jim, Yours was the inspiration for this order. One of the finest looking guitars I've ever seen.

Jim, I'll be forever grateful for the opportunity to play your two Circas @ Dream Guitars awhile back. That OM of yours still has the most low-end I've experienced from an OM...and most Dreads, for that matter.

Gentlemen, I thank you. I feel privileged to own such instruments... and even more privileged to call such a genius craftsman as John Slobod a friend.
