Default congratulations!!

Congratulations Jay!

I had the pleasure to meet Duane at one on the Harp Guitar Gatherings. He is a great guy. You are getting a first class instrument!

I have met a lot of nice people at the Gatherings over the last few years.

They change the location of the gathering each year, so maybe if it's in your area, you can attend. You will have a great time.

Best of luck!

Hey Mike, its my dream to make the one up in Idaho this year but with starting a new business that may not happen. Besides, I need to learn how to play it! ;-)

I hear you Jay.

Learning to play it is a challenge. The problem is there aren't any Mel Bay techique books that have a progressive method to learn harp guitar.

A lot of the guys who are really talented figure out arrangements to incorporate the extra strings.

A good place to get some music arranged for harp guitar is from the Stephen Bennett web site. Stephen transcribes a lot of his material and makes it available at an affordable price.

There are 99 songs right here: http://truefiretv.net/sites/harpguitar2/?page_id=303

John Doan also makes transcription available: http://www.johndoan.com/

Hey Mike,
SB is the elder statesman of modern harp guitarists. (Although he's probably close to my age). I've written about twenty songs in a modern acoustic style. (Hate that term but its better than New Age). Hopefully, as you say some of my arrangements can be tweaked. I'm chomping at the bit to do so.

Keep us posted. Maybe I should look at finally ordering a harp guitar next year and nothin' else. I kinda tested the waters with my 7 string and a harp guitar sounds perfect for a guitarist who plays bass and might have an identity crisis.

A new pic and the anticipation is killing me. Thank goodness, I think, I'm swamped at work.

Hey Brian,
Lookin' like around mid-July. I'm still struggling to get the last pmnt together but the new biz is going well so hopefully that will happen soon. Duane said it'll need about a month for the finish stuff. Has Guitarbarbeque been scheduled yet? Usually around first week of Aug?

Miss ya buddy, hope all is well on your end!

Nah, it hasnt been scheduled yet but it's on Ed's to-do list for after vacation, I think.

Miss you too! Things are hectic, but good. Again, the guitar looks OUTSTANDING.

Very nice! you'll have to decide if you are going with the Bennett way of tuning the subs or the other "Standard" . For me Stephen's music is a big inspiration so that's the path I took.

Stephen's transcriptions are a great tool and source as well as his truefire videos. It's a fun instrument to play and looks like you will have a great one!

Whoa! That's like building two guitars joined together. My hats off to anyone who would try that. Looking great!
