Just attended Taylor Roadshow, Glen Ellen, CA!
Well, I think you will have a good time. I spent a lovely afternoon in the Sonoma wine country at a Taylor Road Show this past Sunday. About 20 guitars were lined up to be played and about half of those were demoed by a player named Wayne Johnson. I was able to meet up with another forum member and his wife as well so that was a nice treat.
Highlights for me were a Grand Concert 12 fret, short scale all Koa with satin finish and an all mahogany Grand Auditorium. There was a custom Grand Orchestra made with myrtle back and sides that was nice. The sales rep gave a short talk about tonewoods and the different Taylor models and what Bob Taylor is focusing on in terms of reforestation and some of what Andy Powers is now trying to do in terms of bringing some nuance to the Taylor line. All in all, a great time at a sweet venue. If you get a chance to attend one, it is fun and informative. Please report in after the NY one, fazool! Best, Jayne
