Not really a fan of the slapping/tapping but she is a talent for sure and the instrument is beautiful sounding.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of tapping either, but I thought people be interested in seeing the Amicus in action. I didn't do the MacNichol road trip for this model and I regret it.

Though I am not a big fan of tapping and slapping, I am finding that there are some in this genre that I do seem to like. Vicki Genfan is one who I can listen to longer than many others. She has a really creative approach to the guitar beyond the slapping and tapping, and she is well versed in fingerstyle. She has some courses with TrueFire that I would suggest people here check. You can glean a lot of creative direction without having to be into slapping and tapping. Her approach to new open tunings is worthwhile alone.
Edit: when somebody really creative like Vicki Genfan is playing, I tend to pay more attention to the musician than the tools in use. Tony

Im really excited to have Vicky as an Emerald Artist.
This is just her first messing around on the Amicus12 just after she received it. Im patiently waiting to see what magic she creates when she really gets to know it and writes some tunes on it. The Amicus is really becoming popular. Joe Satriani even bought one recently and gave us an incredible plug in a recent online interview. Heres what he wrote "I just acquired an Emerald 12 string/mandolin hybrid guitar made with carbon fiber. I'm really fascinating with it right now, it's a great instrument. You can use your guitar chops to get the mandolin sound." As you can imagine I was pretty excited when I read this. Alistair |

Have You watched how the Amicus sound hole is right in front of her Heart while She is playing?
Perhaps this is truly "Music From The Heart"...

I have to "withdraw" an instrument or two before I can order an Amicus. I do wish my D28 would move... at $1365 US, you'd think *someone* would be interested.
