Default How to pronounce the word "enjoy"?

The English word "enjoy" should be pronounced by: en-joy or in-joy??

Thanks!

Why not en-joy? That's how people in my neck of the woods pronounce it.

In some regional accents, like the South, the "en-" is pronounced harder and does sound like "in-".

South and Midwest also pushes the 'eh' sound of the letter 'e' into an 'ih' sound.

I cringe a little every time I hear 'git' instead of 'get'.

In the UK we lean towards the 'in' rather than 'en'.

I've said enough times in my head now that I am going "en" joy. "Injoyment" and "anjoyment" don't sound right. Accents and dialects aside I think we're on the same page.

Y'all have a nice day,eh!

We also pronounce 'herb' like 'house' and 'hill.' Why, you may ask? Well, I may be wrong, but I suspect it's because someone saw fit to stick an 'h' at the beginning!
