Tonight's the night! Come on out & if you're not blown away by Doyle's playing, I'll personally refund the ticket price. (Free admission by the way.)

Default After the show . . . .

I can only say to those who were within driving distance of this show and couldn't be bothered to make it . . . YOU SCREWED UP !

Because you missed something very special. Those who have seen Doyle and Haley in person know what I'm talking about. One of the great talents of our time - you cannot watch and hear this man play and not be impressed and amazed.

Thanks to Cliff (Ragamuffin) for the effort to bring folks like this to our area, we're richer for it.

Preston is exactly right... Doyle is one of the great talents of our time. If he ever comes remotely close to you, it will be well worth your time & money to go see him. And if he happens to bring Haley, well, oh my goodness are you in for a special, special treat! They are both amazingly talented and are also amazingly nice, humble people.

As we were setting up & doing the sound check before the concert Doyle asked if there was anything I especially wanted him to play. I told him I'd recently heard (and really liked) one particular song. He replied that it had been awhile since he'd played that, but he'd work on it later back stage and see if he remembered it. As it turned out, I got to spend about 30-40 minutes with him one-on-one backstage before the show. During this time he started playing the song I had asked about. He was playing it perfectly up to one point where he stopped and said, "You know what? I play this song in a different tuning..." So he had been playing a complicated arrangement of it perfectly in the wrong tuning! Amazing...

During this time before the show, he also shared a lot with me about his personal faith and some amazing things that have happened in his life in that area. Since this is not the place for religious discussions I won't go into detail. Let's just say the depth of this man's faith mirrors the depth of his talent. Again, amazing...

I’ve heard nothing but very positive feedback from the folks who came out last night. So like I said, if Doyle is coming anywhere near you, make the effort to go see him. You’ll be glad you did.

Did you get to tell anything special about Doyle during your introduction to the show? Did you say hi for me?

I kept my introductory remarks brief, knowing folks had come to hear Doyle play rather than listen to me talk. And, yes, I did mention his friends and fans here on the AGF (passing on regards from one in particular)! He was very appreciative.
