Default Inexpensive acoustic amp?

I have a great Ultrasound acoustic amp I greatly appreciate. However, I've seen some inexpensive acoustic amps (like the Behringer AT 108) advertised that interest me. They are light in weight and supposedly sound OK. I'm thinking it may be a good amp to take to guitar lessons (giving and taking).

Here's the question: Do you have a lightweight, inexpensive, acoustic amp you currently are using? If so, what are your impressions of it?

Thanx ahead of time!

Let us know what you mean by light weight? <30 lbs? Is wattage a criterion?

I like my Behringer ACX 900. Lots of features, decently natural sound, and a great price. A bit heavy, and the vinyl peels right off the back if it sits in a warm place. But I have been happy with it!

Check out a Roland CM30, they sound great for acoustic guitar. 30 watts and only 12 lbs, but has 3 channels plus Aux In so you can even add a mic and another instrument plus a CD player or I-pod. Makes a neat little portable PA if you need it to. I have a couple and bought them both used for less that $150 each. Use 'em all the time for a variety of things.

My Ultrasound only weighs about 28 pounds, so the 12 pounds sounds reasonable. I think the Behringer is 11 pounds.

Sounds perfect - except, not inexpensive.

Yes.

My Instructor uses a hollow body electric. We often play arrangements together. I can plug into his electric amp when using my T5. Not so with an acoustic. Strumming I can easily get enough volume w/o an amp. Definitely need an amp while doing fingerstyle (on acoustic) along with someone playing an electric guitar.

I have 4 of those CM30s - got them really inexpensive brand new on sale. They work great for my Motif XS keyboard, but have not tried them for acoustic. For that, I use my AAD Cub 100, but will have to compare with the CM30. Those CM30s are really, really decent and for the price, nearly impossible to beat just for sound and flexibility. If they really work for acoustic guitar, then that is what I would suggest - small, light, inexpensive, and typical Roland "built like a tank". You can connect two together for stereo, which is what I do on my keyboard - they have special jacks on the back for that.
