Mostly work on my own compositions and trying to come up with new ones although I did
tab out and learn Bob Evan's "Slippery Slope" recently as I really liked it when I heard it. |

I have a couple of songs I like to finish up for Youtube (I have them down but not at performance level yet): A Trout Towards Noon (Kottke), Sailor's Grave On The Prairie (Kottke), Echoing Gilewitz (Kottke/ Gilewitz).
I am also getting close to finishing Leo Kottke's arrangement of Arms Of Mary. Did I mention that I like Kottke?

Working on "To Be or not to B" (lot more challenging than I thought it would be) by Tommy Emmanuel and "The Lucky One" by Alison Krauss.
Finished following Tommy Emmanuel's tunes: Dixie McGuire, Borsalino, Cowboy's Dream, Lewis and Clark and Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa will need some serious polishing though.

I'm polishing up Larry Pattis' arrangement Waltzing Matilda (using the tab that mmmaak shared with us all recently) as well as Larry's arrangement of Ashokan Farewell. There are a couple of chord transitions in each that I thought I had down, but after listening to a recording of myself playing them, I realized that they're not very smooth. Must fix that!!
![]() I'm also starting back up on a (re)arrangement of Scarborough Fair that I always end up setting aside when a new tune catches my interest. It's sort of a mash-up of 3 or 4 of my favorite fingerstyle arrangements of the tune. I need to find a Christmas tune or two to learn this year, or my parents will sulk on Christmas day. Maybe one of Huttlinger's arrangements.

Power of two by the Indigo Girls. The tapping on the 2nd and 4th beat was tough for me. But it's coming along nicely!

I've taken on a huge project of trying to learn Eric Clapton's Signe. I don't fingerpick but I thought if I'm going to learn, it might as well be a song I don't have to sing to.
![]() It's a slow process and I've been quite distracted with a house purchase and now moving (which is why I haven't been here much the last few weeks), so it's been even slower, if not stalled altogether. Once the dust settles, I'll be getting back to it. I've also been playing around with Robert Plant's Big Log. I'd like to record a version playing all the parts.

I'm currently driving myself crazy with Two Hundred Tour Buses by Craig D'Andrea. Right at the 2:30 mark things get tricky, but its slowly coming together. Hopefully sooner than later I'll but uploading my take....
